O Beloved people of Libya! O Descendents of Umar al-Mukhtar!
After the tyrant of Libya was on the verge of ruin, the West – both America and Europe – has raised it head looking to militarily intervene in Libya. They seek to undertake a political action by which to create a substitute for the tyrant. At times they seek to justify this on grounds of evacuating their citizens, and at other times on grounds of humanitarian assistance and to create a no-fly zone, as mentioned in the statements of American and European officials yesterday and today, 25/02/2011.
Europe seeks to restore her influence in Libya, which the tyrant, Gaddafi, protected over 40 long years. It seeks to create a substitute, a more tolerable face with which to deceive the people, who will continue fulfilling this role. America, on its part, competes with Europe in creating a substitute who will serve American interests. Both have deeply malevolent intentions, and both are rejected by the pure blood that has been sacrificed and by the believers.
O beloved people of Libya, O descendents of Umar al-Mukhtar: Only the pure blood that has been sacrificed in order to remove the tyrant is able to establish the pure and righteous substitute which will return Libya to its original state as a free and noble Islamic land in which the Shari’ah of Allah reigns supreme. So do not let the words of the West, sugar-coated with humanitarian concerns, deceive you by allowing them to gain a foothold in your land.
You began your move against oppression and tyranny in truth and sincerity, so continue in this way. You are now very close to getting rid of Gaddafi and his henchmen, so persevere and persist on the truth you are upon. Do not allow the imperial West a path to corrupt your uprising. Just as you are firm in the face of the tyrant, be firm in the face of any Western intervention in your land. Do not let the West steal your uprising or defile your pure blood that has been sacrificed.
O descendents of Umar al-Mukhtar, O beloved people of Libya: you have been tested with a calamity, whose name is Gaddafi, the one who rejected the Sunnah of the Messenger (saw) and spread corruption in the land. But indeed the people most tested by Allah are those high in stature in His sight, as related by the Messenger of Allah (saw). Mus’ab ibn Sa’d narrated from his father who said, “I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, who the people most afflicted with calamity?’” He replied, “The prophets, then the best of people, and those best after them” (al-Tirmidhi). In this is a witness of your virtue, and now Allah has rescued you from this calamity through your sacrifice and strength, and your pure blood which this tyrant violated, forgetting, or pretending to forget, that for every oppressor there inevitably comes a black day in which he tastes the fruit of his deeds. This tyrant has almost met that day, and once Allah (swt) takes hold of him, He will not let go. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “Indeed Allah gives respite to the oppressors until when He takes hold of him, He does not let him go” (al-Bukhari).
O descendents of Umar al-Mukhtar, O free and courageous army of Libya: you are a people of strength. It is through you that the tyrant will either remain or fall. If you stand with the truth, as is your obligation, and support your brothers of the uprising, the tyrant will fall and be trampled over. By this you will be among those believers who were true to their covenant with Allah, and that is the supreme success!
If you support the tyrant, you will carry his sins on your backs and the crimes of the blood he split in oppression. Yet this will not prevent from him the anger of the Ummah and his eventual removal. You will only prolong his life, his spilling of blood and killing of innocent Muslims, whilst the sanctity of Muslim blood is greater in the sight of Allah than even the sanctity of the Ka’bah. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, whilst making tawaf of the ka’bah, “How pleasant you are and how pleasant is your scent! How great you are and how great is your sanctity! But by Him in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad the sanctity of the believer, his wealth and blood, is greater in the sight of Allah” (Ibn Majah). Thus if you support the tyrant, you will be form among the supporters of the oppressors, for whom there is disgrace in this world and a humiliating punishment in the hereafter, and that is the manifest loss!
O descendents of Umar al-Mukhtar, O courageous army of Libya: you have carried weapons to protect the land and honour, so do not defile this by protecting oppression and tyranny. Remember that you are the descendants of the mujahid liberators who went forth from your land, they built it and crossed it, raising the testimony of truth whenever they went, from the shores to the mountains and from the plains to the deserts…they fought in the path of Allah against oppression, against the colonialists and their supporters. They forced Italy to flee in humiliation. So be like the lion and remove the tyrant! This is indeed a noble act, that will be written for you and for which you will be remembered. Allah is with you, and he will not let your good deeds go to waste.
O descendents of Umar al-Mukhtar, O courageous army of Libya: you are able to end this matter by destroying this bloody tyrant and rescuing the land and honour from his insanity and lunacy. At the same time you are able to prevent any Western intervention in your land. So do not let that pure blood go to waste, do not let those noble sacrifices go without bearing fruit.
Hizb ut-Tahrir- who was the first of those to sacrifice their blood in the reign of this tyrant thirty years ago when thirteen of its members were martyred at his hands – calls out to you to revive you resolve and uproot the tyrant from the face of the Earth.

The sacred blood that has been split on the pure soil of Libya calls out to you to pay it dues, and to make it of great and blessed value, by directing your uprising to supporting Hizb ut-Tahrir in establishing the Khilafah Rashidah, which will establish justice among you. Those who reside on the Earth will find happiness thereby, those who reside in the heavens will envy you, and that pure blood will remember you with good.
{وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ * بِنَصْرِ اللَّهِ يَنْصُرُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ}
“And on that day the believers will rejoice, with the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and he is the Mighty, the Merciful.” (al-Rum: 4-5)
