The Deception of March 8th International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is marked every year on March 8th. It is supposedly a celebration of women’s economic, social and political achievements and a general celebration of respect, appreciation and compassion towards women. But in reality, the celebrations belie the reality of women in Pakistan, and world wide. Moreover, the root cause of the problems faced by Muslim and non-Muslim women the world over arise from the very Western ideology that the Women’s Day promotes.
The implementation of Western capitalist solutions in the homelands of the West or wherever it establishes a foot-hold, reveals a reality where women face injustice and oppression. The overall reality that comes into existence, when western ideas of freedom, individualism and equality are promoted is one of confusion. It leads to the disintegration of a stable society and the destruction of a harmonious relationship between men and women.
Western ideas have been unable to understand and solve key issues regarding the role of the man, the role of the women, and their relationship and rights and duties towards each other. The undermining of marriage, and the promotion of fornication has deprived the woman of her right of maintenance for herself and her children, such that armies of women must both work and raise children. The disintegration of stable families has even led to an increase in child malnutrition and juvenile delinquency in western society! The undermining of the honour of the women and allowing her portrayal as an object of desire has lead to widespread abuse, harassment and rape of the women. These corrupt solutions have affected all sectors of society, from the rich to the poor, from the celebrities to the everyday people.
Despite the miserable failure of the Western ideology towards women, the Western governments allocate hundreds of millions of dollars to promote the Western values within Muslim society. They propagate the view that oppression of women is a result of religious laws. However, this view is based on the Western experience of the Christian Church and its tampering with the laws revealed upon the noble Prophet Eesa عليه السلام and is a far cry from the Deen of Allah سبحانه و تعالى revealed upon His RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم which granted the women rights fourteen centuries ago, that the Western women still dreams of. Yet, the traitor Muslim rulers promote the Western values as much as they can, whilst preventing the implementation of Islam comprehensively.
O Muslim women of Pakistan!
Islam alone defines the worth of man and woman, Islam alone defines what is justice for man and for woman, and Islam alone defines the rights and duties of man and woman. Allah سبحانه و تعالى said.
إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْقَانِتِينَ وَالْقَانِتَاتِ وَالصَّادِقِينَ وَالصَّادِقَاتِ وَالصَّابِرِينَ وَالصَّابِرَاتِ وَالْخَاشِعِينَ وَالْخَاشِعَاتِ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقَاتِ وَالصَّائِمِينَ وَالصَّائِمَاتِ وَالْحَافِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمْ وَالْحَافِظَاتِ وَالذَّاكِرِينَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا
“For Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men, the believing women, the obedient men, the obedient women, the truthful men, the truthful women, the steadfast men, the steadfast women, the reverent men, the reverent women, the charitable men, the charitable women, the fasting men, the fasting women, the chaste men, the chaste women, and the men who remember Allah frequently, and the women who remember Allah; Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great recompense.” [Surah Al Ahzab:35]
These rights are given to her by Allah سبحانه و تعالى and can not be taken away by any man made legislative body! Your Rulers implement man-made laws and a few misapplied Islamic laws. Islam must be applied comprehensively in society and to the exclusion of Western laws.
Islam alone grants the full and true rights of citizenship for the woman in education, economics, judiciary and politics as well as outlawing any forms of abuse and violence against women. It is not dependent on her ability to earn or her economic worth. Islam does not simply mandate these rights in law, its society nurtures values of accountability and a view of respect towards women within society which is the primary barrier to preventing harassment, abuse, and violence against women as well as preventing discrimination in the provision of their rights.
Islam grants the women honour as an inviolable matter, prohibits slandering of her reputation, exploitation of her charms, or objectification of her body to sell any product or service. It promotes a concept of accountability, responsibility, and care for the women. RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, فاتقوا اللّه في النساء فإنكم أخذتموهن بأمانة اللّه “Fear Allah regarding the woman, you have taken them as an amaana (trust) of Allah.” Although the mother has the right to work, the responsibility for providing maintenance and other support lies upon the father. This effective partnership produced a stable Muslim society, under the shade of the Khilafah, for over a thousand years that raised generations of strong Muslims, live and energetic and leaders for all of humankind.
O Muslim women of Pakistan! O Daughters of the Mothers of the Believers!
The world is awaiting the arrival of Islam, from Tunisia, Libya, Egypt to Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia. Already you even see the Western women embracing Islam in large numbers. What if Islam was implemented practically and comprehensively as a Khilafah state? Already the Muslim women are standing for Islam despite the oppression by the traitor rulers. What if they were supported by a righteous Khaleefah, ruling by Islam. Embrace your sisters in Hizb ut Tahrir and work with them for the re-establishment of the Khilafah state which will lead men and women from the darkness of kufr to the light of Islam. Allah سبحانه و تعالى,
الر كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنْ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَى صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ
“Alif Lam Ra. (This is) a Book which We have revealed to you that you may bring forth men, by their Lord’s permission from utter darkness into Light.” [Surah Ibrahim: 1]
