Bangladesh: New Chapter in the Global War on Islam

On 21st April, 2010, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina has upgraded her long standing image as a frontrunner in the struggle against Islam by arresting Dhaka University teacher at the prestigious Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Professor Mohiuddin Ahmed, the official spokesman in Bangladesh of the most influential and largest global Islamic political party, Hizb ut-Tahrir at the order of her masters in Washington, Delhi and London.

He was arrested immediately after Hizb ut-Tahrir organized a successful demonstration in the port city of Chittagong along with the youths of the Ummah against the military exercise in Bangladesh by the US named as ‘Tiger Shark II’. The ‘Tiger Shark II’ is the second in a series of exercises started in November 2009, which clearly highlights the potential of Bangladesh for USA in its perpetual war against Islam as she is tirelessly working to stop the rise of the Islamic super state, Khilafah in this region encompassing Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia with a total of more than 500 million Muslims. In fact the American intention has been further confirmed when, on 14th May 2010, the recently retired head of the British army, General Richard Dannatt speaking on the BBC’s Today program confirmed that the war in Afghanistan, which has now extended to Pakistan, is a war on Islam. He has acknowledged in his own words that, “There is an Islamist agenda which if we don’t oppose it and face it off in Southern Afghanistan, or in Afghanistan, or in South Asia, then frankly that influence will grow. It could well grow, and this is an important point, we could see it moving from South Asia to the Middle East to North Africa, and to the high water mark of the Islamic caliphate in the 14th, 15th century.”

Therefore immediately after Hizb ut-Tahrir’s protest in Chittagong which was hugely publicized by the national media in Bangladesh and which successfully exposed the designs of the American vulture, the leader of the crusaders instructed Bangladeshi government to arrest Hizb ut-Tahrir’s spokesman Prof. Mohiuddin Ahmed as the security forces of the government failed to make any arrest from the demonstration and as the party’s activities to protect the Ummah’s interest directly confronts Hasina’s activities to protect American interest in Bangladesh. Interestingly back in November 2009, immediately after protesting against ‘Tiger-Shark I’, the party was banned for accounting the government, with the Home Minister quoting the party’s long anti-government and anti-democratic activities as the reasons for the ban, while  Prof. Mohiuddin Ahmed was put under house arrest. During this time his telephone, mobile, internet, computer and all other means of communication was cut off and he was not allowed to go outside even to say Friday Jummah prayer. His wife and children were deprived from living a normal life. But soon the patience of America to deal the party finished and in the darkness of night the security forces arrested him. On the next day 22nd April, he was produced in court though the back door and he was deprived of access to a lawyer. The court put him under 3 days remand and later on under another 4 days remand. He was charged for reorganizing the party during his time in house arrest when he was locked up in his house under the watch heavily armed security forces and without telephone, mobile, internet, computer and all other means of communication!

It was not enough for Hasina’s government. The government on 22nd April arrested party’s deputy spokesman, a software engineer and real estate businessman Kazi Murshedul Haque form his residence in the darkness of night without any charge and later fabricated charged against him. He was also placed under a total of 6 days remand in two different terms. But nothing stopped Hizb ut-Tahrir. As Professor Mahbub Ullah, Chairman of the Development Studies department at Dhaka University on a recent television talk show suggested that ‘Hizb ut-Tahrir is an ideological political party. Oppression, jail and suppression can not stop such party. It will be a futile trial. There is a need for alternative ideological political party to counter them or reducing their influence on the society. Since we do not have such ideological political parties in Bangladesh, no body can stop them.’

At the end of April, the party launched another campaign for Hasina’s role in aiding crusader America to make Bangladesh a new chapter in America’s war against Islam.  The government responded with continued onslaughts by arresting another 15 members and activists of the party on 30th April 2010 from different parts of the country including a youth of 18 years age who was taking his higher secondary school certificate examinations from the country’s number one Government Science College in Dhaka. This brave son of the Ummah rejected the police officer’s offer to get free on the condition of signing an undertaking stating his non-involvement with the party. Again on 10th May, 2010 another 13 members and activists has been arrested including 4 Dhaka university students from their dormitories in the university, two principals of reputed private English medium schools and one university teacher from a reputed private university. All of them were arrested and put under remand. Finally on 17th April, 2010 in Chittagong, police raided the house of Sheikh Umar Russell, former judicial magistrate of Feni district court and now a lecturer of law department of BGC Trust University and an advocate of Chittagong Judge Court, in the darkness of night alleging that he organizes party’s activity in the Chittagong region. Fortunately Allah (SWT) destroyed their plot as he was not in house, so they could not arrest him.

Indeed, like the previous Khaleda government, the crimes of Sheikh Hasina, a servant of the crusader, are numerous. She is guilty of killing the biggest contingent of army officials in Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), a total of 64 army men, to weaken the defense system of Bangladesh with the collaboration of India, she has agreed to hand over  Chittagong sea port to India, she granted transit to India to weaken Bangladesh’s security while she has handed over Indian separatist leaders which fulfills Indian security needs, she has remained silent on Indian’s resumptions of Tipaimukh Barrage on the Sylhet border and numerous other steps. She has allowed American military bases in Bangladesh and made our army to be subservient to American interest and needs. She has signed treaties for cooperating with USA and India to counter the so-called terrorism, a strategy that USA promotes to use Muslim countries, government and its security system to fight her war against Islam, Muslims, and the imminent return of the Khilafah. However, Hasina must know that, this is a fight that her predecessors fought in vain and her master’s will be defeated soon leading to the victory of the believers. Let Hasina count her days, while the Khilafah returns and serves her the true justice for criminalizing and jailing the sincere leaders of the Ummah like Mohiuddin Ahmed and Kazi Murshed.
