Family of Dr. Ismael Sheikh Holds Press Conference

Dr. Ismael Sheikh Must Be Released Immediately

Today, Dr. Ismael Sheikh’s family and lawyer Mr. Umar Hayat Sindhoo, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, held a press conference at Karachi Press Club, Karachi, Sindh. Advocate Umar briefed the media regarding Dr. Ismael Sheikh’s abduction and the judicial process that has so far taken place.

Advocate Umar said that by profession Dr. Ismael Sheikh is a dental surgeon. He had been teaching at a renowned dental college before his abduction.  Dr. Ismael Sheikh was abducted by government thugs on Friday, 18th of April 2014, after 9:30 a.m., when he left his home, in his white Suzuki Mehran. They seized his car as well, registration number U-4509. The very same day at around 2:00 p.m. around twelve to thirteen men equipped with Kalashnikovs and wearing bullet proof jackets arrived in police mobile vehicles. These plain clothed men forcefully entered his house, violating the sanctity of a house of a Muslim. They did not even give time to his wife and daughters to cover themselves by Hijab. There was no lady official amongst them. These government thugs used abusive language against Dr. Ismael’s wife and turned the whole house upside down. They seized the passports of Dr. Ismael, his wife and daughters, laptops of Dr. Ismael Sheikh and his wife, mobile phones, original, original registration books of two cars, original documents of the ownership of the house, cash of around one hundred thousand Rupees and two gold coins worth around one hundred and fifty thousand Rupees. They fired at the main gate of the house to open it and took away the car, AND-533, of his wife as well. They ruthlessly threatened the wife of Dr. Ismael and his five daughters and scared them severely. The family of Dr. Ismael Sheikh endured their brutal presence for almost 45 minutes remained at the house.

Advocate Umar said that on the same day Dr. Ismael Sheikh’s wife registered a written complaint regarding Dr. Ismael’s abduction, attack on the house and theft at the concerned police station and also informed Chief Minister Sindh, Governor Sindh, I.G. Sindh and the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court. On 22nd April 2014 a constitutional petition, number 2094, was filed in Sindh High court and its first hearing took place on 23rd of April 2014 presided by a divisional bench of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Sadiq Bhatti. The divisional bench issued notices to the relevant authorities and departments and passed an order to produce Dr. Ismael Sheikh on 30 April 2014. But unfortunately government agencies did not produce him, so the divisional bench ordered the concerned S.H.O to register an F.I.R and set the next hearing for 22nd May 2014. Advocate Umar and the family of Dr. Ismael Sheikh demanded the government and its agencies release Dr. Ismael, for he is a jewel of the Ummah, not a criminal. He also asked the media to play its role in securing his release, by highlighting his unfortunate ordeal.

ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کے خاندان نے  پریس کانفرنس منعقد کی

ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کو فوراً رہا کیا جائے

آج ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کے خاندان اور ان کے وکیل جناب عمر حیات سندھو ایڈوکیٹ سپریم کورٹ آف پاکستان نے کراچی پریس کلب میں پریس کانفرنس سے خطاب کیا۔ ایڈوکیٹ عمر حیات سندھو نے میڈیا کو ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کے اغوا اور اب تک  کی عدالتی کاروائی سے آگاہ کیا۔

ایڈوکیٹ عمر حیات سندھو نے کہا کہ پیشے کے لحاظ سے ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ ڈینٹل سرجن ہیں اور کراچی کے مشہور ڈینٹل کالج  میں بطور استاد کے خدمات سرانجام دے رہے ہیں۔ ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کو جمعہ 18 اپریل 2014 کی صبح تقریباًنو  بج کر تیس منٹ پر  حکومتی ایجنسیوں کے  اہلکاروں نے ان کی گاڑی سمیت اغوا کرلیا جب وہ  اپنے گھر سے سفید سوزوکی مہران، نمبر U-4509 میں  نکلے ہی تھے۔ پھر اسی دن تقریباً دو بجے دوپہر حکومتی ایجنسیوں کے تقریباً بارہ سے تیرہ اہلکار  کلاشنکوفوں سے لیس بلٹ پروف جیکٹوں میں ملبوس پولیس موبائلوں میں ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کے گھر پہنچے۔ سادہ لباس میں ملبوس یہ افراد زبردستی گھر میں داخل ہوگئے اور  ایک مسلمان کے گھر کے تقدس کو پامال کرتے ہوئے ان کی بیوی بچیوں کو اس بات کا موقع بھی نہیں دیا کہ وہ حجاب پہن لیں۔ ان کے ساتھ کوئی خاتون اہلکار بھی نہیں تھیں۔  ان لوگوں  نے ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کی بیوی کو غلیظ ترین  القابات سے نوازا اور پورے گھر کو الٹ کر رکھ دیا۔ ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ اور اس کی تمام فیملی کے اصل پاسپورٹ، ڈاکٹر اسماعیل اور ان کی بیوی کے لیپ ٹاپ، موبائل فونز، دو گاڑیوں کے اصل رجسٹریشن بُکس، گھر کے اصل ملکیتی دستاویزات، ایک لاکھ روپے نقد اور سونے کی دو سکے جن کی مالیت تقریباً 75 ہزار روپے فی سکہ ہے،  الماریوں سے نکال کر قبضے میں لے لیے ۔ انہوں نےان کے گھر کے مین گیٹ پر گولی چلا کر تالے کو توڑا اور ان کی بیوی کی  ذاتی گاڑی نمبر AND-533کو بھی نکال کر لے گئے۔  انہوں نے  ڈاکٹر اسماعیل کے بیوی بچوں کو دھمکیاں دیں اور انہیں شدید خوف میں مبتلا کردیا اور تقریبا ً پون گھنٹے تک ان کے  گھر پر موجود رہے۔

ایڈوکیٹ عمر نے کہا کہ اُسی دن ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کی بیوی نے ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کے اغوا، گھر پر حملے اور لوٹ مار کی تحریری رپورٹ متعلقہ تھانے میں کردی اور اس کی ایک ایک کاپی وزیر اعلیٰ سندھ، گورنر سندھ، آئی جی سندھ اور چیف جسٹس سندھ ہائی کورٹ کو بھی ارسال کردی گئی۔ 21 اپریل 2014 کو ایک رٹ پٹیشن نمبر 2094 سندھ ہائی کورٹ میں دائر کی گئی جس کی باقاعدہ سماعت 22 اپریل 2014 کو جناب جسٹس سجاد علی شاہ اور جناب جسٹس صادق بھٹی ، معزز جج صاحبان سندھ ہائی کورٹ کی ڈویژن بینچ میں ہوئی۔ اس ڈویژنل بینچ نے متعلقہ حکام اور اداروں کو نوٹس جاری کیے اور یہ حکم دیا کہ 30اپریل 2014 کو ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کو پیش کیا جائے۔ لیکن افسوس کہ انہیں آج پیش نہیں کیا گیا۔لہٰذا عدالت نے متعلقہ تھانے کے S.H.Oکو F.I.Rدرج کرنے کا حکم صادر کیا ہے اور اگلی سماعت کی تاریخ 22 مئی 2014 مقرر کی ہے۔

ایڈوکیٹ عمر اور ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کے خاندان نے حکومت اور اس کی ایجنسیوں سے مطالبہ کیا کہ وہ ڈاکٹر اسماعیل شیخ کو فوراً اپنی قید سے آزاد کردیں کیونکہ وہ اس امت کا گوہر نایاب ہیں ناکہ کوئی مجرم۔ انہوں نے میڈیا سے ان کی بازیابی اور اس افسوسناک اور قابل مذمت واقع  کو اجاگر کرنے کے لیے اپنا کردار ادا کرنے کی اپیل بھی کی۔
